Cleaning & Exams

TO OUR NEW PATIENTS
Why should you have a professional dental cleaning and exam?
When it comes to good oral health, one of the most important things you can do is to visit your trusted dentist at least every 6 months. While it’s true that brushing and flossing at home every day is vital to your oral health, you’ll never be able to remove all the plaque and tartar that builds up on your own. Our outstanding hygienists make a point to customize a dental hygiene regimen specific for each patient they treat. After your professional dental cleaning, our patients will always leave with a refreshed smile and heathy teeth and gums.
It is equally important that Dr. Conley comprehensively examines your teeth, gums, bite, and TMJ every 6 months. The truth is, dental problems develop gradually over time, so it’s much easier to address a concern early, before pain starts. The doctors emphasize patient education and give you the tools so that you are set-up for a life-time of total body health.
What You Can Expect During Your Tooth by Tooth Exam and Professional Dental Cleaning
Your regular trip into our office for a professional cleaning will include more than your hygienist simply cleaning your teeth. What follows is a list of what you can expect during a typical dental exam and cleaning trip to our office:
- A visual examination of your teeth, dental restorations, and gums by your dentist
- Your dentist will perform an oral cancer screening
- Your hygienist will take X-rays
- Your hygienist will thoroughly clean and polish your teeth
- Your dentist will measure the depth of gum pockets that form around teeth
The exact nature of your visit will depend on your current oral health and any dental or gum issues you may be experiencing.
TO OUR NEW PATIENTS
Everyone Should Visit the Dentist Regularly
You should visit your dentist on a regular basis no matter what your age or oral health. The youngest members of your family should be taken to the dentist for exams when their first baby teeth begin to erupt through the gum tissue. The oldest members of your family – even those that wear partial or full sets of dentures – should also visit the dentist on a regular basis. And, of course, members of every other age should come in routinely as well. At Mosaic Dentistry, our team of trained dental professionals has experience in working with patients of all ages, making us the perfect choice as a family dental practice.
