Why Invisalign®?

How Invisalign® Works
Invisalign works by gradually moving the teeth into the desired positions when patients wear the trays for at least 22 hours daily. Depending on the prescribed treatment, trays are changed anywhere between 7 to 14 days to accommodate new tooth movements and to further guide them into the right position/direction.
The trays are mostly transparent and virtually invisible when the patient is speaking, eating or smiling. Because they are removable, they can be cleaned easily every day and worn again without discomfort, unlike conventional braces which require careful cleaning and the use of orthodontic brushes.
Benefits of Invisalign®
Many patients report that the aligner trays are more comfortable than traditional metal braces. Because you can remove the trays yourself, there are no restrictions on the types of food you can eat – which is not always the case with metal braces. Since your trays are removable, it’s much easier to maintain your normal daily oral hygiene routine than it is with traditional braces.

Invisalign® and The iTero Element Scanner
Invisalign comprises of custom transparent plastic trays fabricated for your upper and lower teeth. At Mosaic Dentistry, we use the latest technology and top-of-the-line materials for all our services including Invisalign. For Invisalign, we use the sophisticated and very effective iTero Scanner.
In most cases, our iTero Scanner has made the use of gag-inducing impression material a thing of the past. The device captures an instant 3-D rendering of your teeth, gum and jaw position.
After the scan is made, it is electronically sent to Invisalign where a 3-D rendering is made called a Clincheck. The Clincheck software gives Dr. Conley the ability to virtually plan your treatment from start to finish. Here, Dr. Conley will know the length of your treatment and if any polishing of your teeth is needed. At this stage, Dr. Conley will determine the length of treatment, number of aligners or trays, and if “slenderizing” of teeth is needed. Extensive time and detail is spent by Dr. Conley to perfect the Clincheck before it is accepted. The trays are then fabricated with high quality, smooth plastic which is BPA Free and very comfortable to wear.
